ABOUT US

Changing the Narrative

Established in 2022, the Prince George’s County Alliance of Black School Educators (PGCABSE) became an affiliate of the National Alliance of Black School Educators (NABSE) and a proud partner of Prince George’s County Public School System (PGCPS), MD.

WHAT IS PGCABSE?

 

PGCABSE is a not-for-profit organization established exclusively for educational and charitable purposes. The Alliance aligns its vision, mission and goals to NABSE and PGCPS.

  • Promote and facilitate the education of all students, especially those of African descent.

  • Promote the recruitment and retention of Black  educators in PGCPS. 

  • Establish a coalition of Black educators and others directly and indirectly involved in the education process.

  • Create a forum for the exchange of ideas and strategies to improve opportunities for people of African descent.

  • Identify and develop Black professionals who will assume leadership positions in education.

  • Advocate for and influence public policy concerning the education of Black students.

  • Transformational Workforce: To honor its commitment of fostering an inclusive, culturally responsive and caring environment, PGCABSE will support PGCPS in recruiting, retaining and developing a sustainable workforce focused on student success.

  • Safe & Supportive Schools: To meaningfully support student success and to keep equity at the center, PGCABSE will support PGCPS with fostering and supporting inclusive and accepting environments that are equitable and culturally responsive. We are dedicated to promoting mental health awareness!

  • Family & Community Engagement: To truly have a caring culture and to encourage student success, PGCABSE will support PGCPS with strong family-school based partnerships, effective family engagement strategies, and professional learning opportunities. We are ready to meet families where they are!
